About
The purpose of this blog is about 2 things: Food & Age
As a teen into healthy living, the day to day experience is being singled out for food. Friends say, “you eat weird things” or people saying you’re too picky because you don’t want to eat the foods they are eating.
I have experienced both of the above situations multiple times and more. It is hard. Anything worth having is going to be hard. I can’t say, from my own life, that they aren’t really judging you or no one is really paying attention. Because they are. True, they probably aren’t thinking the things I imagine or dwelling on it as much as I do, but it is really hard. To be confident in your choice of spinach and bananas when they are eating corndogs and fries, is like lining yourself up in front of a firing squad where the bullets are gossip and being looked at as weird or “different.”
For the longest time, I thought I was alone in wanting to eat healthy, read food blogs, and eat green smoothies and spinach salads. I realized, however, that I am not alone, maybe in my little isolated community, but not in the world.
I wanted a way to connect with other teens. I don’t know all the answers to living healthiest, but how could I. I’m not even twenty years old.
I just want to eat great food for me, laugh every day, and enjoy my life. So what if that makes me a little “weird.”
